About

Hey there, my name is Rich Smith. I am a personal trainer and online fitness coach who has been working with clients since 2017. I’ve always been into fitness, and I played pretty much every sport there is at some point growing up. I realized in high school that I enjoyed weight training and exercising in preparation for various sports moreso than the actual sports themselves. My later years in high school is when I began to take my own fitness and training more seriously.

After going off to college I didn’t play any organized sports, but worked out in the campus weight room five days a week. I began to compete in obstacle course races and triathlons to give me something for which to train. During my senior year of college I became more focused on powerlifting, which I fell in love with. I competed in several meets, and learned a lot about the sport. This is still my preferred style of training, though I train more broadly now with an emphasis on overall health and fitness.

I began my journey as a personal trainer working in a commercial gym after obtaining my American Council on Exercise (ACE) personal training certification. I had the opportunity to work with a very diverse client population, from teenagers to the elderly. This opened my eyes to even more styles of training such as performance, prehab, and rehab. After two years of training I obtained my Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) in order to expand my depth of knowledge and to better equip myself to serve my clients.

I now serve clients in the Chester County area for in-person personal training. I also offer online coaching as a way to serve a wider array of clients, and also to offer more options to my local clients. I’m always hear to help so don’t ever hesitate to reach out for guidance! I’ll help in any way that I can!
